Holland Michigan
Holland is a city located in the Lower Peninsula of Michigan. The city is best known for its Dutch heritage, which serves not only as a part of the city's cultural identity, but the local economy as well: the Tulip Time Festival in May and various Dutch-themed attractions augment the nearby Lake Michigan shoreline in attracting thousands of tourists annually.
The goal of Holland’s redesign was to capture the essence of the city’s heritage while encompassing its growing Latino culture. The form was inspired from Holland’s tulip fields, while the colors represent Latino art. The diagonal lines show movement and symbolizes the mesh of these two cultures and the cities growing diversity.
